If you find that your method for removing hair is a bit painful then perhaps you might be interested in knowing what members of ancient Egyptian royal families endured. Can you believe that they actually did it with a shard of obsidian stone. Essentially a piece of broken glass? They had to do it!
You see, the reason they had no choice, is that it was all part of their duties as “god rulers”. The gods were finicky back then, so in order to deal with them all hair had to be removed or else they might be seen as dirty in some way. Now keep in mind that if they skipped shaving, the gods would surly punish their people.
Fortunately the chips of obsidian which are like broken glass were rendered obsolete a long time back but one aspect that remains, is that epilation is still uncomfortable. That’s a fact. So what this all is pointing to, is that no matter how you go about it, you’re still going to have to suffer to one degree, or another.
Let there be no doubt about it but that waxing is by far the most painful way to turn hairy skin smooth. It’s been around for centuries, so you’ve most likely heard of it. Now in case you haven’t, this process is done by bonding hot wax to a patch of hair, and then ripping it all out with one swift tug.
Epilation creams if used properly can be pretty much pain free most of the time, although they can cause periodic irritation. With these products it’s imperative that you follow the instructions and also that you not be allergic because the substance that dissolves the hair, is the same substance that’s used in drain un-clogger.
Hair removal sprays are now available on the market that are in fact relatively pain free, if you have no adverse reaction to them. However, before you head out to buy them check your purse or wallet because they aren’t cheap. Expect to pay between $100 and $300. Also keep in mind that they won’t deliver long term results.
Now as far as overall pain is concerned, laser and intense pulsed light hair removal therapy systems fall “somewhere in the middle”. That is that there is some discomfort involved, but it’s tolerable. Also bear in mind that the skill level of the person doing the work factors in heavily.
On the plus side, both of these high tech systems deliver results that can last up to a decade when further touch-up treatments are usually needed. Still another thing to consider, is that some of the newer systems contain integrated technology that’s designed to minimize pain levels.
Even razor shaving that most people consider as painless, can be incredibly painful, and bloody in the event of a cut or nick. Also try to remember that shaving is a one day solution and leaves stubble and comparatively speaking over a decades time the cost of razors adds up into a substantial sum. More than most people realize.
