The fact is that hair removal by light, including laser hair removal, and IPL hair removal have been around for years. In fact it was sometime back in the early seventies that the first experiments were done with it in Europe. So then just what is IPL, and why is it different from laser?

It’s just a given fact that most adults have at least some hair on their body that they wish didn’t grow there. For women, it’s most usually their underarms and legs and for men it is on their face but it can be other places as well, and this applies to both men and women. Bikini lines, chest, back, etc.

An epilator is a hair removal device that removes hair by grasping several hairs at a time and pulling them out by the roots. Ingrown Hair occurs When hair curls back into itself and starts growing inside the hair follicle or when the hair gets trapped underneath the skin and fails to grow out of the hair follicle. A small bump or protrusion will form on the skin because of a cyst-like formation made up of curled hair. As the hair grows longer and the cyst grows larger, this can cause skin irritations, itching and can be really painful especially when the ingrown hair becomes infected. An infected ingrown hair is called pseudofolliculitis barbae. Early signs of infection are painful red bumps on the skin and if left untreated, pus may form. At this stage, a doctor is needed to remove the pus and probably prescribe you some topical antibiotics.

Man has been shaving ever since invention of the blade. Shaving is the oldest hair removal method still being done today. Shaving was really important in the past . Ancient Egyptian priests shaved most of their body hair as a sign of purification. Alexander the Great encouraged shaving to prevent beard-grabbing during hand to hand combat.
